Our Story
Spoiled Pets was founded in 2023, but our story goes back much further than that.
In 2005, Daedrien Leyva, our CEO, adopted her first kitty, Dallas. Little did she know, that sassy, spoiled kitty would change her life. They would play hide and seek, watch birds, cuddle, and play dress up. Unfortunately, the food options for cats weren't great back then, and Dallas was diagnosed with diabetes in 2016.
After Dallas was diagnosed with diabetes, Daedrien realized that pet nutrition wasn't all that it should be. She set out to revolutionize the feline and canine culinary experience one meal at a time.
When Daedrien met Brian, our COO, he wasn't sure if he was even a cat person. He didn't have any pets growing up, but when he met Oreo, Dae's furry companion, they became quick friends and Brian became a cat-lover for life. He adopted Daisy in 2023, bringing our family up to 4.
Together, they realized that they could do something about the rampant fillers, preservatives, and low-quality meat found in most pet food. They sensed that people wanted food that they could trust, and a truly luxurious culinary experience for their loved ones. Spoiled Pets is founded on these principles.
